Database giant Infogroup is in final negotiations to be acquired by New York-based equity firm CCMP Capital Advisors, the Omaha World-Herald reported on February 26.

Universal Pictures is conducting a mobile campaign promoting its film Repo Men. The studio worked with digital agency 360i, mobile barcode technology firm Red Laser and creative agency The Visionaire Group on the effort.
 

AirWare revamps marketing strategy to include DRTV, paid search

AirWare, the manufacturer of anti-snoring aid Brez, has overhauled its marketing strategy to include a DRTV campaign and paid search to drive online and phone orders. The DRTV spots, created by Philadelphia-based Impax Marketing Group, will begin airing in April.

During last year's Academy Awards ceremony, 11% of viewers tracked by Nielsen's Convergence Panel simultaneously watched the Oscars on TV and followed them on the Internet. Nielsen Online also said that people who used Facebook while watching the broadcast spent an average of 76 minutes there, and it estimated more than 100,000 messages were Tweeted during the show.

E-mail scam targets American Airlines customers

Scammers recently sought consumer information by distributing e-mail messages pretending to be from American Airlines. The phishing messages appeared to have been sent from American Airlines' AAdvantage frequent flyer program.
