Ogilvy names new leaders for advertising, direct businesses

Ogilvy New York has installed individual leaders at the top of its advertising and direct businesses for the first time in approximately three years. Both will report to Carla Hendra, chairman of Ogilvy New York and CEO, Ogilvy North America.
 

ExactTarget sees 50% revenue growth in 2008

In a tight economy, e-mail seems to be doing well. While other companies are reporting layoffs, the ESPs have been reporting big account wins and sales growth. ExactTarget just announced that 2008 was a record-setting year for their business, as the firm saw revenue increase by more than 50 percent.
 

Yankee Candle releases succession plan

Harlan M. Kent will become the next CEO of Yankee Candle on October 1. He will remain president of the company. Kent, currently president and COO of the company, will succeed Craig W. Rydin, who will continue to serve as chairman and CEO through October 1. Rydin will then become executive chairman of the board through October 1, 2010 and a non-executive chairman thereafter

When I received my stimulus check last year, I — like most people — split it between the bank and bills. When the next stimulus comes through in paychecks starting April 1, part of it will still be headed to the bank, but because it will come incrementally, instead of as a lump sum, I'll use some for incidental purchases or to save for larger ones.

The multimedia campaign featured TV spots and print ads all designed to show consumers all of the things in their life they could "fold" into their Vodaphone device, including maps, music, television and the Web.
