Spanish-language Yahoo Mobile debuts

Yahoo launched Yahoo Mobile en EspaƱol, a Spanish-language mobile homepage customized for the US Spanish-speaking consumer, on November 12. Yahoo plans to work with advertisers to sell display and mobile search ads on the site.
 

Novartis $200 million integrated campaign promotes heartburn drug

Pharmaceutical company Novartis launched a $200 million integrated ad campaign, which includes a number of digital elements, on November 12 for over-the-counter heartburn drug Prevacid 24HR. The effort's digital elements include online ads that drive consumers to the prevacid24hr.com Web site on targeted portals like WebMD, as well as Yahoo and other lifestyle destinations.
 

HP fiscal 4Q revenues drop 8% from 2008

HP, which includes consumer and business-to-business printing units, reported preliminary fiscal fourth-quarter revenues of $30.8 billion, a decrease of 8% from the year prior. The company disclosed that the revenue figure, up 12% sequentially, is a drop of only 5% when adjusted for the effects of currency. The company's fiscal fourth quarter ended October 31.
 

Wrigley shifts digital to Big Spaceship, EVB, Firstborn

Wrigley has confirmed that it has transferred its digital advertising duties to Big Spaceship, EVB and Firstborn. Wrigley had been working with Tribal DDB, Digitas and Agency.com prior to the decision, according to a report in Advertising Age. Digitas confirmed the loss, but declined to comment on the matter. Agency.com and Big Spaceship referred calls to Wrigley.
 

Bass Pro Shops hires Transaction Wireless for mobile gift card program

Outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shops has tapped mobile commerce and marketing firm Transaction Wireless to create its first mobile gift card program, which will go live in next year's first quarter. When the mobile program launches next year, consumers will be able to customize online gift cards by incorporating personalized text, videos and voice messages.
 

Google: Retailers optimistic about holiday e-commerce

More than half (53%) of retailers' 2009 holiday advertising budgets are staying at the same level as last year, while 41% of retailers are seeing their ad spending allowances increase, according to analysis by Google and OTX, a consumer research and consulting firm.
