The Postal Regulatory Commission unanimously approved the US Postal Service's summer sale, formally known as the Standard Mail Volume Incentive Pricing Program, on June 4. The 30% rebate on postage used during a two-month period for eligible mailers is an effort by the USPS to address dramatic mail volume reductions and support the mail industry during a period of economic downturn.
 

IAB: Internet advertising drops by 5% in Q1 2009

In the first quarter of 2009, Internet advertising dropped 5%, to $5.5 billion, when compared to the same quarter last year, according to the the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
 

Chase launches new rewards card and program

JP Morgan Chase and Co. has launched a new proprietary rewards program for its Chase Card Services division. The "Ultimate Rewards" program, available to users of the Chase Freedom card and the new Chase Sapphire card, offers points rewards, which can be redeemed for cash, merchandise, travel and gift cards.
 

Facebook testing payment method for app developers

Facebook continues to test ways to expand the use of commerce within the site. According to a statement from the company, Facebook is testing a system that will allow application developers to accept credits as a form of payment within the site. "We're always testing new ways to add value for our users and developers, and we think enabling developers to accept these credits as a form of payment has the potential to create exciting new user experiences," the e-mailed statement read.
