The Online Trust Association released a draft of its 2009 draft Online Trust Principles for public comment. The principles, once verified, will be used to drive adoption by business and regulatory agencies. The aim of the latest set of principles is to prevent, detect and alleviate threats to consumer trust and privacy online. Starting today, there is a 30-day comment period to be followed by ratification procedures.
 

Columbia Sportswear to launch e-commerce channel with Demandware

Outdoor apparel and footwear marketer Columbia Sportswear Company has selected the Demandware e-commerce platform to build its new consumer online channel. JCPenney sponsors new Yahoo programming

Yahoo has launched a new original program called "Daytime in No Time" consisting of highlights from each day's daytime TV programming and sponsored by JCPenney. The new clip show is a follow up to Yahoo's similarly formatted "Prime Time in No Time," which was launched in March 2008 and has had more than 200 million streams. Verizon is the sponsor of that show. Both shows reside on Yahoo TV.
 

Disney launches new e-commerce site

Amazon.com has updated its digital book reader Kindle for the iPhone, with a new updated application of the App, which launched in March. The updated application features a new portrait/landscape mode, new pinch to zoom images in a book, as well as an option to select alternative background and text colors to improve reading in low light conditions.

The nonprofit has been an Epsilon database client since 1997 and also uses the agency's e-mail and Epsilon Targeting services to manage and market to its 45 million-member database.

Mintel Comperemedia's direct mail database shows health insurers positioning themselves as high quality and focused on the individual, not just the employer.

Amergent's nonprofit data management software, Portfolio, was chosen following a lengthy search process, which included a formal RFP and presentations from three finalists. Portfolio will replace Mercy Home's legacy system as the nonprofit works to improve its multichannel outreach and expand its constituent base.
