AAA Western and Central New York has implemented a new CRM system from CDC Software to better manage communications to its 880,000 members. More than 640 AAA associates will be using CDC's Pivotal CRM 6.0 as the auto club works to increase membership, improve customer service and cross-sell and up-sell products.

Nextmark data card report shows improvements

Nextmark Inc. today released its first quarter 2009 Data Card Quality Report, which featured 17 new companies that made the top 50 for their respective categories, double-digit improvements in the 500-plus category, and 11 companies that achieved a perfect score (100) on every data card. Individual data card scores are calculated using a weighted average of 13 attributes, with an emphasis on recent updates.
 

PacSun sticks with Alliance

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (PacSun) has extended its 9-year private label credit card contract with Alliance Data Systems Corp. PacSun's private label credit card lets users earn points that can be redeemed for future purchases. It also provides members — mainly teens and young adults — with information on sales and promotions, largely through their monthly statements.

Telecommunications firm Vonage has selected Omnicom's TBWA\Chiat\Day New York as its advertising agency and sister agency PHD as its media agency. The two Omnicom agencies will be responsible for all Vonage advertising activities.
 

UPS Freight adds service in Mexico

UPS Freight, the less-than-truckload arm of UPS, will now offer door-to-door service to and from Mexico, including UPS customs brokerage capabilities and single invoicing for all services between the US, Canada and Mexico. Freight will be expedited by using five border crossings.

As AOR, Sigma Group will help introduce Water-Jel to consumers

Sigma Group has been named agency of record for Water-Jel Technologies in support of the company's strategy to bring its burn care technology directly to consumers. Water-Jel is the exclusive supplier to the US military, and its emergency first aid burn treatments are available in many hospitals. The company plans to develop new consumer products for 2009 and will work with Sigma to develop a new brand platform and direct-to-consumer launch strategy.
 

CarDomain acquires StreetFire.net

CarDomain Network, an online automotive community, has acquired StreetFire.net, a site for automotive video file sharing. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition comes months after Glenn Rogers took over StreetFire as CEO.
