Former DMA EVP to lead Pitney Bowes' production mail equipment unit

Pitney Bowes will announce September 10 that it has named Ramesh Lakshmi-Ratan president of its document messaging technologies unit, according to industry sources. The unit markets Pitney's production mail equipment and software to large-volume direct marketing mailers, particularly in the financial services and insurance industries.

The fiscal fourth-quarter and year-end revenue decreases reported by Neiman Marcus on September 9 reflect a difficult year for luxury merchants, as consumers closely watched their spending. The company's leader, however, cited its Internet business as a bright spot. For the fiscal fourth quarter that ended August 1, Neiman Marcus reported that year-over-year comparable revenues decreased 23.4%.

ABC gains five digital publishing members

The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), an organization that checks the print circulation, readership and Web site activity of media outlets, has added five companies involved in digital publishing initiatives to its roster. The new members include Bite Sized Candy, the creator of a soon-to-be-launched technology that makes magazines available via iTunes and readable on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
 

USAA launches e-commerce loyalty program

USAA, a provider of financial services to current and former members of the US Armed Forces and their families, has launched an online loyalty program called USAA MemberShop. The program, created with loyalty shopping solutions provider Mall Networks, enables consumers to earn between 1% and 20% of their cash back or points on each dollar spent online with nearly 500 brand-name merchants.
