Credit card-related direct mail volume jumped during last year's fourth quarter. It was the first increase in three years, although the total amount of credit card mail pieces pails in comparison to pre-recession amounts, according to research from Mintel Corporation released January 28.

American Express has launched LoyaltyEdgeSM, a practice area that will help the company's corporate clients develop or enhance loyalty programs. Delta Air Lines is the first client of the unit, which was announced January 22.

Valassis announced January 25 that it will bring management of Valassis Lists products, including its 151 million-universe mailing list, in-house. An abandoned shopping cart was almost a purchase conversion, but the customer left after placing an item in their shopping cart -- abandoning it before checking out. According to MarketingSherpa, online retailers report that 20-60% of carts are abandoned.
