Online movie destination Fandango is running a new mobile marketing effort to promote the Paramount Pictures summer blockbuster film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which opens August 7.
 

Southern Accents to cease print

Southern Accents, a Time Inc. publication focusing on Southern style and living, will cease publishing. The September/October 2009 issue will be the last print edition of the bi-monthly, though it is slated to continue online production at SouthernAccents.com. The economy, which has seen Southern Accents' ad pages drop 37% between Q2 2008 and Q2 2009 (per PIB), was cited as a major reason for the closure.
 

New agency, Geomentum, gets local

Mediabrands, a division of Interpublic Group of Companies, has launched a new agency called Geomentum. Geomentum uses "hyper-local," neighborhood-based, market intelligence to help clients plan, execute and measure campaigns targeted to the sub-ZIP code level.
 

Constant Contact reports 49% increase in revenue in Q209

The industry has been buzzing about how e-mail has been doing well in the recession, and e-mail marketing services firm Constant Contact has more proof to support that case. The firm announced its financial results for the second quarter, which saw a 49% total revenue increase for the second quarter in 2008 from $20.8 million to $31 million, on August 6.
 

iCrossing taps UK CEO

iCrossing, a digital marketing agency, announced August 6 that it has named Paul Doleman as CEO of its UK operation. He was previously chief technology officer. Doleman replaces Arjo Ghosh, who becomes chairman. As chairman, Ghosh will remain actively involved in the business with a focus on strategic direction and, in particular, European growth, the company said in a press release. Doleman will be based in iCrossing's Brighton office.
 

Intergi to manage online advertising for Tower Records

Tower Records has signed an exclusive advertising agreement with Intergi to represent and supply advertising opportunities for the Tower.com Web site. Tower.com offers an extensive collection of online music, home entertainment video and books. "As the Tower brand expands to include video games and accessories, our partnership with Intergi will play a significant role in providing our customers with a dynamic and accessible shopping environment," said Sabrina Miller, marketing manager for Tower.com, in a statement.
