Pitney Bowes launches list management platform for small businesses

Pitney Bowes launched an online list management service for organizations that use direct mail infrequently, or send only small volumes of it, on November 30. The company's goal for the platform, called AddressRightNow, is to eliminate inaccurate addresses and to update mailing lists based on US Postal Service change of address information.
 

Black Friday sees plenty of shoppers; spending up only slightly

Despite a struggling economy, 195 million shoppers visited stores and e-commerce Web sites during the weekend after Thanksgiving, up from 172 million last year, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF). Total retail spending for "Black Friday weekend" hit $41.2 billion - up only slightly from $41 billion spent last year. However, November 27 was the second-busiest online shopping day of 2009.
 

Hoveround chooses iMarketing for SEM and lead gen

Motorized wheelchair maker Hoveround is working with iMarketing Ltd to increase its online presence through search engine marketing (SEM) and cost per acquisition (CPA) campaigns. Jeffrey Hilton, director of marketing at Hoveround, said the companies launched their first campaign together on October 26.
 

Merkle's response group chosen by Catholic humanitarian organization

Nonprofit humanitarian agency Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is working with Merkle's Response Management Group on database and fulfillment services for its Operation Rice Bowl program. The campaign is being promoted mostly through direct mail to churches and other Catholic organizations.
