Past experience had taught me that this particular store would have people waiting for the doors to open, so I left a bit early. I also brought along the mental protective gear; shopping in New York can be a contact sport. I arrived just after the doors had opened, and to my surprise, I was the only one there.

Google today announced that advertisers who use AdWords will now be able to show desktop text and image ads on the iPhone, the T-Mobile G1 or any other mobile device with full Internet browsers.
 

CBS Radio, Yahoo Launchcast enter agreement

Yahoo and CBS Radio have entered into an agreement under which CBS Radio will power Yahoo's free Internet radio service, Launchcast Radio. Launchcast's 150 stations and more than 150 CBS Radio stations will be combined in early 2009, with CBS Radio assuming sales responsibility.
 

Honda bucks mood with a warm, 'Happy' campaign

Despite trouble in the auto industry, car maker Honda is running its annual "Happy Honda days" campaign to pro­mote holiday car sales. The integrated campaign, which includes TV, search, radio, banner and an online game, began on November 24 and runs through the end of the year.

Retailers' holiday marketing budgets take a hit

Advertising and marketing budgets at the nation's leading retailers are taking a hit this holiday season, according to a new survey from BDO Seidman LLP that was conducted after the financial market meltdown. In the survey, 32% of chief marketing officers at leading US retailers said that their holiday marketing and advertising budgets have been reduced this year. The budget is remaining flat for 43% of retailers and increasing for 25% of retailers.
