E-mail marketing company StrongMail has acquired The Email Advisor, an e-mail marketing consulting company that specializes in email strategy and optimization. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Carl's Jr. has signed reality TV star Kim Kardashian to push its new line of salads through social media channels. The idea behind the social media campaign is to acquire new customers by capitalizing on Kardashian's celebrity and reaching out to her followers across the Internet. Kardashian has more than 2.6 million followers on Twitter and more than 500,000 friends on Facebook.
 

Cambridge BioMarketing acquires RDVO

Cambridge BioMarketing, an agency specializing in healthcare marketing and communications, said December 17 that it had purchased digital marketing agency RDVO, a company it had contracted for digital work in the past. No staff changes are expected at either agency. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 

Former Rodale chairman & CEO Ardath Harter Rodale dies at 81

Ardath Harter Rodale, former chairman and CEO of health publisher Rodale, died at 81. She was the wife of the late Bob Rodale, former CEO, and the mother of Maria Rodale, who currently holds the chairman and CEO title at the media company. Ardath Rodale served as co-chairman of The Rodale Institute, a nonprofit institution dedicated to research and education focused on organic food and agriculture. The company built its magazine and book businesses through direct response marketing.
 

UPS extends mobile application to the BlackBerry
