The Online Trust Association released a draft of its 2009 draft Online Trust Principles for public comment. The principles, once verified, will be used to drive adoption by business and regulatory agencies. The aim of the latest set of principles is to prevent, detect and alleviate threats to consumer trust and privacy online. Starting today, there is a 30-day comment period to be followed by ratification procedures.
Outdoor apparel and footwear marketer Columbia Sportswear Company has selected the Demandware e-commerce platform to build its new consumer online channel. The e-commerce site at Columbia.com is expected to launch in this summer, serving consumers in the US, with other sites to follow for Europe and Canada.
Yahoo has launched a new original program called "Daytime in No Time" consisting of highlights from each day's daytime TV programming and sponsored by JCPenney. The new clip show is a follow up to Yahoo's similarly formatted "Prime Time in No Time," which was launched in March 2008 and has had more than 200 million streams. Verizon is the sponsor of that show. Both shows reside on Yahoo TV.

Amazon.com has updated its digital book reader Kindle for the iPhone, with a new updated application of the App, which launched in March. The updated application features a new portrait/landscape mode, new pinch to zoom images in a book, as well as an option to select alternative background and text colors to improve reading in low light conditions.
T-Mobile USA is debuting a new campaign today that is aimed at helping people save money on their wireless service. The campaign, called "Mobile Makeover," calls wireless customers to compare the value of their current wireless plan against other carriers.
