Here I am, rounding the corner of 28th St. and Park Ave. in New York when, suddenly, I am hit by a guy coming at me with a flier for a local deli. A polite "no thank you" did no good this last link in the marketing chain was listening to his iPod. Of all urban advertising vehicles, the people handing out fliers are definitely the most disruptive, much like a pop-up window that spawns an endless cycle of new pop-up windows.

Google is far from being unseated as the dominant player in the US search market. According to ComScore data for July, Google led the core search market with 61.9% of searches conducted in the US.
1-800-Flowers.com this week launched a mobile store available on Blackberry smartphones. The new Mobile Gift Center, a Blackberry application, is designed to provide quick access to customers on the run or who need a last-minute gift, according to the company.
The Aegis Group plc, the parent company of Aegis Media and Synovate, has reported 8.2% organic revenue growth for the first half of 2008. Due to slowing demand in Spain, the US and the UK, the marketing communications group said its revenue outlook for the second half of 2008 is less certain.
