Gogimon has introduced Search Channel, client-based software that can be downloaded directly to the user's PC. The software allows users to channel search results from Google, Yahoo and Microsoft Live in different tabs, as well as focus and filter search results in various ways.
OVGuide.com, an online guide to video Web sites, has launched a new search engine. Powered by Relevis technology, the search engine is assisted by OVGuide.com's editorial team, which categorizes each site based on content.

Yahoo now offers full audio songs in its search results. Google does not currently offer search results that include audio. Despite this, it reached its biggest monthly gain in the market in five months, up to 63% in August. Last month, Yahoo's share of the search market dropped 0.9 % from its 19.6% in July.

It is still unclear which next-generation business models will dominate in the local advertising revolution. Local search still has not been perfected, and the local business market still struggles with the issues surrounding the effective integration and application of emerging media in their overall marketing mix.

Once relegated to a small club of tech-savvy entrepreneurs, search has gained a seat at the marketing equivalent of the grown-up table and is a standard component of advertisers' marketing mix. For search marketers, this makes life harder.
