Microsoft has released Silverlight 2, a solution meant to aid in the creation and delivery of Web applications. Silverlight 2 improves upon Silverlight, which was launched over a year ago and now reaches one in four worldwide consumers with access to Silverlight-enabled computers.
Facebook has integrated Microsoft's Live Search into its user interface. US Facebook users now have the option to search Facebook or the Web using Microsoft's offering, in the toolbar at the top of Facebook pages, without leaving the site.
As the proposed Google-Yahoo partnership moves ahead, Tim Armstrong, Google's president of advertising and commerce for North America, continued to stress that the search giant would not dictate its ad prices.

There's no question that search engine optimization is a field straddling science and art. As competition to command search rankings has exploded, SEO strategies have become increasingly elegant and complicated. Most marketers and business owners these days end up toiling over complex SEO solutions in pursuit of the-next-best-thing. Progress has its drawbacks, though.

In 1999, I entered the SEO/SEM industry. The amount of changes since then has been staggering. The largest search engine today, Google, wasn't even on the map.
