Database provider and marketer InfoGroup today signed a new and expanded long-term agreement with integrated marketing provider Alterian. Alterian and InfoGroup have been partners since 2001.
Advocacy group Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has selected Orange Leap for its fundraising, constituent, and database management. Dallas-based Orange Leap will provide software to allow MADD to consolidate its numerous databases and better communicate with supporters.

Today, I visit 24-hour ATMs, use direct deposit, make automatic bill payments and receive automatic e-mail alerts if my balance hits below my preset limit all without speaking to anyone.
This week, Salesforce.com Inc. reported net income for the fiscal fourth quarter nearly double that of last year's, showing that, in a receding economy, CRM and SaaS providers may prove to be a bright spot. Although it has lately been bogged down by falling stock prices and the February departure of president and chief strategy officer Steve Cakebread, Salesforce actually surpassed sales and earnings estimates for the quarter, which ended January 31.

I love it when self-help books bleed into my professional life. I recently read "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. Ruiz writes that one of the four ancient Toltec mantras (or agreements) needed to achieve inner balance is, "don't make assumptions." Here comes the crossover to my professional life as a marketer and a loyal shopper: I'm remembering all of the wasted ploys spammed to me based on erroneous suppositions.
