Online game stores turn to Webtrends for customer analytics

GameStreamer, a b-to-b network that offers digital distribution and streaming of online games, has tapped Webtrends to provide analytics and customer insight for both the company and its partner retailers. Webtrends Analytics 9, chosen from a field of 5 vendors in a due diligence and testing process, will help GameStreamer and partners monitor visitor activity to their online game stores.

OfficeMax turns to ParAccel for deeper analytics

OfficeMax plans to improve its use of data and analytics and has begun implementation of ParAccel Inc.'s Analytic Database. ParAccel was chosen from a field of 13 data warehousing and analytics providers in a due diligence process that eventually narrowed the field to two vendors. ParAccel won out in an on-site proof-of-concept demonstration. A critical factor in the decision was ParAccel's ability to quickly run a thorough market basket analysis for OfficeMax, which the retailer will use to optimize its merchandising and promotions.
 

JetBlue latest airline to seek improved loyalty

JetBlue jumped into the new loyalty fray this week, with plans to upgrade its TrueBlue membership program following closely on last week's loyalty program upgrade announcements by Delta and United.
 

New agency, Geomentum, gets local

Mediabrands, a division of Interpublic Group of Companies, has launched a new agency called Geomentum. Geomentum uses "hyper-local," neighborhood-based, market intelligence to help clients plan, execute and measure campaigns targeted to the sub-ZIP code level.
