Vertis appoints Calta first CMO

Vertis Communications named Kathy Calta its first CMO, effective September 1. She most recently served as partner at interactive agency Rosetta. The goal of creating the position, Calta said, is to help the company work more closely with its clients.
 

ExactTarget acquires Keymail Marketing to expand into UK market

Indianapolis-based e-mail service provider ExactTarget is expanding into the UK market through the acquisition of Keymail Marketing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition, announced September 8, comes four months after ExactTarget received $70 million in venture capital funding, which it said it would use to expand its international presence.
 

HP helps marketers reach consumers' printers directly

HP has announced a series of relationships with marketers anxious to reach consumers with material they can print at home. In addition, HP has launched the HP APP Studio, a Web site where consumers can access print applications that connect a printer to the Web, without the need for a computer, so they can print movie tickets, coupons and other content.
 

Acxiom names Taylor VP, corporate marketing

Interactive marketing firm Acxiom appointed Erin Taylor VP of corporate marketing, effective September 1. The former director of direct marketing at Alltel, she is charged with positioning the company to reflect market leadership and increasing its creative services and advertising capabilities.
