Consumer lists lead drop in average CPM

Almost all major list categories, particularly consumer lists, have continued their steady drop in rental prices, according to Worldata's Spring 2009 List Price Index. The index is released quarterly and is based on cost per thousand (CPM) for lists. Consumer list rental prices have dropped the most since this time last year, falling $29/M, or 19.33%, but consumer magazines were not far behind, falling $7/M, or 6.54%, since last spring.
 

IAC announces Urbanspoon purchase, Q1 results

Along with its first quarter financial results, IAC today announced the acquisition of Urbanspoon, a Web-based local Internet guide. The Internet company reported revenue of $332 million in Q1 2009, a drop of 10% from the same period in 2009. However, it is confident in the growth potential of its search, personals and local businesses — the latter of which was bolstered by the Urbanspoon acquisition.

The Financial Times is extending its long-running "We live in Financial Times" campaign with new work from DDB London. The latest leg of the campaign, set to debut globally May 4, is designed to drive global executives to FT.com.
 

Lane Bryant will launch new e-commerce site with Fry

Plus-size women's apparel multichannel merchant Charming Shoppes Inc. has selected Fry Inc. as its e-commerce vendor, with new e-commerce sites scheduled to launch this fall for Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherines Plus Sizes. The project will include strategic planning, creative and user experience design, multisite e-commerce platform development, an integrated order management and call center application, and site hosting for the three core brands.
 

The Atlantic turns to PCD for fulfillment

The Atlantic has tapped Palm Coast Data (PCD) for fulfillment duties, effective July 1. Following a review of PCD and its main competitor, CDS, The Atlantic chose PCD based on the cost of services. The Atlantic had reached the end of its contract with CDS when it put its business into review.
 

Edmunds.com debuts mobile site with Volvo ad sponsorship

Automotive destination Edmunds.com has redesigned its site to be formatted for the mobile Web in a move to reach automotive consumers on the go. The Edmunds.com mobile WAP site will include auto news and reviews, vehicle pricing, Edmunds.com's True Market Value, buying guides, a loan calculator and a dealer locator.
