Publicis acquires Unilever CRM program in France

Publicis Groupe announced September 1 that it will acquire Unilever's multichannel CRM program in France, called "Pour Tout Vous Dire." The holding company named Nicolas Zunz chairman of the initiative, with the goal of expanding its scope and establishing it as a top CRM platform. He retains his role as chairman of Publicis Dialog Paris.
 

Central Hockey League launches loyalty program

The Central Hockey League has partnered with technology service provider Robson Technologies Ltd. to debut CHL Loyalty Rewards. Hockey fans and businesses can earn and redeem points, as well as transfer those points within other rewards programs to which they belong.
 

University of Michigan taps Blackbaud for CRM

The University of Michigan has tapped Charleston, SC-based Blackbaud to replace its fundraising technology and prospect research services. Previously, U of M was working with an internally developed system.
 

New FTC regulations put limits on robocalls

A new FTC rule goes into effect on September 1 prohibiting prerecorded commercial telemarketing calls to consumers, also known as robocalls, without written permission from the consumer.
 

Breaches spotlight data security

Data breaches continue to vex marketers. Three men were indicted this month for stealing more than 130 million credit and debit card numbers, according to the US Department of Justice. The breach was discovered in January and is the largest hacking and identity theft case ever prosecuted by the Justice Department.
