Facebook partners with Nielsen for measurement

Facebook has teamed up with Nielsen in a strategic alliance to help marketers better measure social media campaign results. The partnership, announced September 22, has produced a tool called BrandLift, which polls Facebook users via opt-in surveys to measure consumer attitudes and purchase intent from display advertising on the social network.
 

Yahoo to launch global brand awareness effort

Yahoo will launch a global marketing campaign to build worldwide brand awareness on September 28. The company announced the effort at Advertising Week on September 22. The campaign, which boasts a $100 million ad budget across traditional and digital media for the next 15 months, seeks to make Yahoo, in the words of CEO Carol Bartz, "the center of people's online lives."
 

UPS conducts localized effort to promote Web printing service

Internet advertising to garner 15% share of global ad spend in 2010

Internet advertising will reach $64.7 billion next year, accounting for about 15% of global measured advertising spending, according to research from GroupM, the parent company of WPP media agencies Mediaedge:cia and MindShare. Ad spending will increase in both search and mobile, and the continuing ad spending decline in traditional media will increase Web advertising's increase in share, according to the report.
 

Kroll releases executive e-mail list

Kroll Direct Marketing has released the Publibase Email Address Executive Masterfile International list to the market. The file is a cooperative database of e-mail addresses for executives sourced from publishers of business publications and directories; organizers of business events such as conferences, exhibitions and seminars; and registrants to online business service providers.
