Diversified acquires Active Data Services

Diversified Information Technologies, a provider of document and information lifecycle solutions, has acquired Active Data Services (ADS), which outsources business processes. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wendy's is conducting the "You know when it's real" campaign, an effort emphasizing the restaurant's commitment to freshness. It includes online advertising, numerous social media initiatives, a video contest and an interactive microsite. Kaplan Thaler Group developed the initiative, which soft-launched with TV and radio spots on October 9, and fully rolled out October 12.
 

Starwood launches Twitter, Facebook and iPhone apps for loyalty program

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is using a suite of Twitter, Facebook and iPhone applications to enhance its Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty program. The social media tools, which can also be downloaded by non-members, include SPG TripShare, a Facebook photo application developed with Buddy Media.
 

Web-based retailer Joolwe.com launches online loyalty program

Year-old online jewelry retailer Joolwe.com launched its first loyalty reward program on October 9. The company launched the program to increase its customer base.
 

Cabela's hires Webtrends for analytics

Outdoor gear multichannel retailer Cabela's has selected Webtrends as its analytics vendor, replacing Coremetrics. A key factor in Cabela's decision to hire Webtrends was the firm's ability to give the retailer free access to its data through an open API framework.
