Starbucks is conducting an integrated campaign for the release of its However-You-Want-It products in retail stores. Both the product, which consumers can use to blend customizable drink combinations, and the marketing push launched May 4.
 

Google to enter the e-book business this summer

Google said May 5 that it will begin selling e-books this summer, increasing the company's footprint in the e-commerce sector. Through Google Editions, consumers will be able to purchase e-books through Google's book-search service.
 

Catalina acquires digital coupon platforms from Invenda

Marketing services firm Catalina Marketing acquired the E-centives and Collabrys digital couponing businesses from Invenda May 5. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 

Web retail up 15.6% in April: MasterCard

April e-commerce sales increased 15.6% year-over-year, according to MasterCard Advisors' SpendingPulse report, which also found the average price of an online transaction was up 0.2% compared to April 2009.

General Motors has appointed Joel Ewanick VP of US marketing as of May 24. The former VP of marketing and CMO for Nissan North America will replace Susan Docherty, who will take over a new post at GM, the company said in a May 5 statement.
